This week, Village of Cary Mayor Mark Kownick was appointed to the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Executive Board as Secretary. With this appointment, Mayor Kownick will be working collaboratively with chief elected officials across the Chicagoland region on public policy issues and multi-jurisdictional challenges.
"We are excited for Mayor Kownick to join the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Executive Board and be a voice for McHenry County," said Dave Bennett, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus.
Mayor Kownick, who also serves as Vice-President of the McHenry County Council of Governments, believes strongly in the value of municipal partnering and working collaboratively with all units of government.
"I am honored to be appointed to the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Executive Board," said Mayor Kownick. "I am proud to represent the Village of Cary and McHenry County in this new capacity, and look forward to supporting the mission of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus. The values of the Caucus align with what we do in the Village of Cary on a daily basis by working together with our government partners for the betterment of our residents."
The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus is a membership organization that includes approximately 275 Chicagoland municipalities. The Caucus provides a forum for metropolitan Chicago's chief elected officials to collaborate on common problems and work toward a common goal of improving the quality of life for the millions of people who call the region home.
