The Village of Cary is dedicated to providing residents with safe, potable drinking water. The Public Works Department performs many responsibilities, including potable water sampling, water distribution, hydrant flushing, installing and maintaining water meters, reading water meters and responding to water main break repairs.

The Public Works Department maintains approximately 75 miles of sanitary sewers, 12 sewage pumping stations, a laboratory, and a Wastewater Treatment Plant that treats 2.08 million gallons of water per day.  This award-winning treatment plant is able meet and exceed the regulatory requirements that ensure the protection of our natural resources, including the Fox River.
