The Board of Zoning, Planning & Appeals consists of seven members who are residents of the Village and appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Village Board. The appointment will be made for the remainder of the five year term ending April 30, 2016.
The main duties of the Board of Zoning, Planning & Appeals is to make recommendations to the Village Board regarding land use issues pertaining to the Village Zoning Ordinance, including proposed variations, conditional use permits and appeals of decisions made by the Zoning Administrator. The Board of Zoning, Planning & Appeals typically holds meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.
The Planning and Zoning Division works on both long range planning and current zoning issues. Planning and Zoning staff assist in guiding residents, developers, and business owners through the development and zoning process. The division helps to ensure that new development is compatible with the Village’s comprehensive plan and meets the Village’s development guidelines per the Village’s Zoning Ordinance, which is also available at Village Hall
