Community Garage Sales

The Village has added this Garage Sale page to our website to help Cary residents promote their upcoming sale.  You can now submit the date(s), time and location of your planned garage sale to the Village and we will upload your information to the Village’s website for free. That’s right…a garage sale ad on the Village’s website is free! 

The garage sale information we’ve received to date is listed below.  If you would like to list your garage sale on this site you can do so by accessing the icon below entitled “Please List My Garage Sale On This Site.”  Cary residents must submit their sale information at least one week prior to the event's start date. Only date, location and time of sale will be posted.  This site is not for use to advertise single sale items.

ADVERTISE YOUR GARAGE SALE RIGHT

The Village of Cary wants you to have a successful garage sale and that is why we are helping you to promote your event. If you decide to put up a garage sale sign in your neighborhood, there are five (5) important guidelines we need for you to follow.

1. Signs must be free-standing, staked in the ground.

2. When posting signs for your garage sale, keep in mind the timeframe for advertising. For a weekend garage sale, signs can be posted the Wednesday before the sale, but must be removed by the end of the day Sunday, by the resident hosting the sale.

3. Signs are prohibited along U.S. Route 14.

4. Signs are prohibited on all utility poles, trees and street lights.

5. Garage sales outside of the Village of Cary are not allowed to have signs advertising that sale in the Village.
