Once a building permit application has been submitted, can I begin work before the permit is issued?

No. Work that requires a building permit cannot begin until after the permit has been issued by Village staff. Once the building permit is issued, work must begin within 60 days. All building permits expire 180 days (6 months) after a permit is issued. If work on the project will not be finished within this time frame, contact the Development Department for additional information.
