Village Suspends Electric Aggregation Program

Village Logo

The three year contract with Constellation Energy will expire in November.

After consultation with the Village's electrical aggregation advisor, NorthernIllinois Municipal Electric Collaborative (NIMEC), the Village determined it could not obtain rates guaranteed to be lower than the ComEd rate. The ComEd rate from September 2017 to June 2018 will fluctuate between $0.06651 (kWh) and$0.07651 (kWh). The Village will monitor the market and may re-establish the program, should rates turn more favorable in the future.

Current Constellation customers will receive a confirmation letter from ComEd notifying them of the return to ComEd supply. Residents do not need to take any action as you will automatically be moved back to ComEd at your meter read date later this year. The move back to ComEd will be reflected on your December 2017 or January 2018 ComEd bill.

It is anticipated that with the suspension of the Village's program residents may receive more solicitations from electric companies. If residents receive a solicitation, residents are advised not to provide any of your account numbers to a solicitor. Providing these account numbers to a solicitor may result in an unwanted change in your service provider. Only provide this type of information to a solicitor if you are interested in changing your current service.
