Traffic Crashes

Requirements for Reporting
Persons involved in traffic crashes are required by law to report the crashes to the local Police Department. The legal threshold for traffic crashes involving property damage only is $1,500 to any one vehicle, when all drivers are properly insured. If any one driver is not insured, the threshold is $500. However, your insurance company may request that a report be taken even if the threshold is not reached.
