Overview
The Cary Police Department is a member of the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT) and has been since its inception in 1997. Upon request of the chief of police of a member agency, this unit provides assistance in the investigation of a homicide or other exceptionally heinous crimes. MIAT provides specially trained and experienced investigators, along with equipment not normally available to individual agencies.
